Cuizina Food Company Finds New Home

After 22 years in its original location, Cuizina Food Company is proud to announce that it will be moving its operations to a new and remodeled building in the Fall of 2006.

Beginning in 1984 making ravioli for the catering industry, Cuizina has steadily grown into a full service custom food manufacturer offering frozen pasta, soups and sauces to retail, foodservice and industrial customers.

Cuizina's existing leased space has been remodeled numerous times over that period to accommodate the changes in direction the company has taken. "At this point, we are out of space in our current location," says Ric Ferrera, owner and president. "We are at a point that we would need to turn away future business if we did not expand and our current location would not handle the changes that we need to make."

The new facility, purchased by EJR Investments, a group of Cuizina managers, will include expanded sauce and soup production space along with cold and dry storage all under one roof. In its current location the company is fragmented into many small spaces and off-site storage of product and ingredients.

Cuizina Vice President, Erik Bugge looks at the 32,000 square foot building as a blank canvas on which to create a perfect home for Cuizina. "By starting with an empty shell, we have the opportunity to design the new space to be more efficient than if we continued to expand in our current location," he said.

Ground breaking on the new building will began April 1st with the first phase of construction to be completed in August 2006. Operations will begin in the new facility in September and the move will be completed in the spring of 2007.

"Careful planning will allow us to continue our business without interruption during the entire moving process," Bugge said. "It is our goal for this move to be invisible to our customers, from start to finish."

The 32,000 square foot building was constructed in 1998 and is located at 18565 142nd Ave NE, Woodinville, Washington, just down the road from their current location.
